  3. What do you like the most about your occupation?

    That the fact that I can run a profitable venture but at the same the business is socially responsible by working towards bettering the livelihood of Handloom Weavers and Handicraft Artisans, and giving them access to newer online markets.

  4. Your advice to students looking for a career in this field.

    I am an entrepreneur, and if you ever feel that you can never be happy at a salaried job, that alone is enough for you to quit and pursue that feeling. You might fail initially, but eventually you will hit the jackpot!

  6. I can support other students in their careers aspirations in the following ways

    Southloom. com is predominantly an online business with our own e-commerce store, presence in Amazon and Flipkart. Since I have built this business up from scratch I can guide any student who wishes to build her or his own business online.

     Any successful entrepreneur or politician is a source of inspiration.

  8. A recent book/music album/movie that I found interesting

    I do not read books, and the music I listen to are classics in both English and Malayalam. Movies… Trance, Take Off and North 24 Kaatham in Malayalam and 12 Years a Slave, Pursuit of Happiness and Forrest Gump are all time favourites.

  9. I am put off by

    Laziness, Irresponsibility and Slowness.

  10. If I have to describe myself in 3 words, I would choose these words

     Spontaneous, Energetic and Witty.

  11. I think these are the 3 biggest difficulties students face in pursuing their career aspirations

    They are limited by three things, the first being the pressure of having to earn a higher salary which restricts them the choosing a field of their choice, secondly the poor quality of educational institutes in our country where students do no learn much beyond theory and lastly the lack of accessibility to educational institutions for students coming from marginalised communities.
